SIMS ASSISTS CITY OF DENTON WITH GEFA LOAN
October 1, 2004
Atlanta State Rep. Chuck Sims (D-Douglas), recently locked down funding for the people of Denton, Georgia in there efforts to acquire a loan of $44,090 to paint the city's water tank, both inside and out. The loan provider, the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority offered the loan at the Georgia Fund Program interest rate of 4.2% for ten years.
The people of Denton are part of Representative Sims' new district that covers Jeff-Davis County. " I am glad that I was able to help secure funding for the people of Denton, and I look forward to working with them and the people of my new district in the future", Rep. Sims said.
The Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority is a state agency committed to providing a cleaner environment for all Georgians. They provide financing and other support services for infrastructure improvements, energy programs and fuel storage systems. "I am thankful that Executive Director, Paul Burks and the GEFA staff were willing to work with me and the people of Denton and Jeff-Davis County", Rep. Sims said.
Rep. Sims, a lawmaker since 1996, formerly served on the Education Committee before moving to the Ways and Means Committee of which he is Vice-Chair. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Defense and Veterans Affairs, and State Planning and Community Affairs committees.
