Lawmaker Helps Bryant Elementary School
Kids will get to enjoy Austell Dance Performance by Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre

Atlanta State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan, D-Smyrna, will be presenting
Bryant Elementary School in Cobb County with a check in the amount of $1,500 for grades 3 - 5 at 8:30 am on Friday, January 23rd.

The money will be used to help defer the cost for parents who want to send their children to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on Thursday and Friday, February 5th and 6th. An evening performance would most likely not be an option for the majority of
students because of the significantly increased market price for tickets of such a show.

"The arts are a valuable component of society and explain who we are as a people and have helped shape who I am as a person. I want to be a part of making sure that students in my district are afforded such vital opportunities," said Rep. Thomas Morgan. "Culturally exposing children to such performances who normally might not have a chance to see a them are very important. I wish we could do more."

Rep. Thomas Morgan is Secretary of the Arts and Humanities Committee and serves on the Children and Youth and Education committees.
