POWELL JOINS ADVISORY BOARD
Atlanta State Representative Alan Powell (D-Hartwell), has joined the Legislative Advisory Board of The Heartland Institute, a national nonprofit think tank headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
Rep. Powell will advise Heartland on articles and documents to include in PolicyBot, an internet database of over 15,000 documents from more than 300 think tanks and publishers. PolicyBot is free for elected officials and journalists at www.heartland.org.
Members of the Heartland Legislative Advisory Board also submit essays and news reports for heartland publications for elected officials; meet with their counterparts from other states at special advisor events; and receive priority treatment for their research requests.
"I'm pleased to be able to represent the concerns of my constituents by participating in this forum," Powell said.
The Heartland Institute is a 19-year old, nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research group. It publishes Environmental & Climate News, Health Care News, and School Reform News, as well as The Heartlander, Intellectual Ammunition, and Lawsuit Abuse Fortnightly.
