For Immediate Release RAY RENAMED CHAIRMAN OF AGRICENTER OVERVIEW PANEL
Atlanta - State Representative Robert Ray, D-Fort Valley, has been renamed Chairman of the Joint Agricultural Exposition Authority Overview Committee.
Ray was tapped for the post by House Speaker Terry Coleman, D-Eastman.
The ten-member panel is empowered to review and evaluate the operations of the Georgia National Fairground and Agricenter.
"The Agricenter and Fairgrounds have made a tremendous impact in promoting the agriculture industry and they are ideal for showing and judging livestock.," said Ray. "Generations of Georgians, young and old, are reaping the benefits of these two wonderful facilities and it is the duty of the committee to make sure this continues."
The Georgia Agricultural Exposition was developed to promote agriculture in the state and serve as an educational facility.
Ray chairs the House Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee and is a member of the House Appropriations and House Rules Committees.
