BROOKS TAPPED FOR ROSA PARKS AWARD
Heralded For Social Contributions And Civil Rights Activism
AtlantaRep. Tyrone Brooks has been chosen to receive the Rosa Parks Award for outstanding achievement.
The plaudit comes from the American Association for Affirmative Action.
The award is presented annually to an individual who has served as a role model and leader to others through personal achievement, excellence in a chosen field, commitment to human rights, civil rights, and social issues, and contributions to the betterment of society.
A veteran lawmaker and civil rights activist, Brooks was chosen for exemplary success and achievement consistent with the standards of the award.
Brooks is President of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials.
Brook's receipt of the Rosa Parks Award comes at the 29th Annual American Association for Affirmative Action Conference Award's Luncheon being held Friday, April 1, 2003.
The luncheon will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at 12:30 pm in the Regency VI Room in Atlanta, Georgia.
