LAWMAKERS HOST BOY SCOUTS AT STATE CAPITOL
Atlanta State Representative Pedro (Pete) Marin (D-Duluth), Rep. Earl Ehrhart (R-Powder Springs) and Rep. Jimmy Skipper (D-Americus), hosted Georgia Boy Scouts at the State Capitol on Tuesday, March 11, 2003.
There were approximately 200 Boy Scouts and 40 leaders in attendance from the Atlanta Area Council, the Northwest Georgia Council and the Northeast Georgia Council.
"This is a wonderful organization that promotes self reliance, has personal values based on religious concepts, promotes the outdoors, and above all, has a keen respect for the basic rights of all people,"said Rep. Marin. "I would encourage our young people to get involved in the Boy
The Boy Scouts of America were incorporated on February 8, 1910, through the efforts of several men dedicated to bettering youth, who conceived a program of outdoor activities that developed skills in young boys and gave them a sense of enjoyment, fellowship, and a code of conduct for everyday living.
