Speaker Coleman Issues Statement on New House Member
Atlanta "I want to extend my congratulations and best wishes to my good friend Charles Jenkins (D-Blairsville) upon winning the runoff election for the state legislature in the 8th district
of Georgia. Charles is an independent thinker, a gentleman and an individual knowledgeable in
transportation, health care, the environment, the economy and the needs of North Georgia," said House Speaker Terry Coleman, D-Eastman. "The voters of the 8th have made a wise choice for
their representative. I look forward to working with Rep. Jenkins who will without question do
an outstanding job serving the people of Georgia."
In conclusion the Speaker said, "Were all going to miss Ralph Twiggs. If anyone can continue the job that Ralph did it will be Charles Jenkins."
