BUCKNER WINS SAFETY GRANT Funds For School Bus Tracking System

State Rep. Gail Buckner, D-Jonesboro, has won funding for the Clayton County School System to place Global Positioning Systems (GPS) in all Clayton County school buses.
The GPS systems will enable buses to be tracked at all times and will help ensure the safety of students.
"Safety of our school children is paramount," Buckner said. "The use of this technology will greatly enhance our school system's ability to protect our children."
The program will be in place by the beginning of the school year.
"I worked hard to obtain funding for this project," Buckner said. "I am very happy that the parents and children of Clayton County will benefit from a GPS safety system."
Buckner is Vice-Chair of the Children and Youth Committee and serves on both the Industry and budget-writing Appropriations committees.
