A bill to be entitled an Act to amend an Act relating to the Recorder's Court of Gwinnett County, approved March 27, 1972 (Ga. L. 1972, p. 3125), as amended, so as to change provisions relating to the jurisdiction of the court; to provide that the court shall have jurisdiction over moving and nonmoving traffic offenses as defined in general law; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A bill to be entitled an Act to amend Code Section 15-6-2 of the O.C.G.A., relating to the number of superior court judges for each circuit, so as to create a new eighth judgeship for the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit; to provide for the initial appointment, election, and term of office of said judge; to provide for the manner of impaneling jurors; to prescribe the powers, duties, jurisdiction, privileges, and immunities of said judge; to prescribe the compensation, salary, and expense allowance of said judge to be paid by the State of Georgia and the county composing the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit; to provide for the division of business among the eight judges of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit; to provide for courtroom and chamber space; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A bill to be entitled an Act to amend Code Section 16-8-41 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to armed robbery, robbery by intimidation, and taking a controlled substance from a pharmacy in the course of committing offense, so as to provide that one commits the offense of armed robbery when, with the intent to commit theft, he or she threatens another person by use of an offensive weapon, or any replica, article, or device having the appearance of such weapon, for the purpose of taking the property of another from such other person or from the immediate presence of such other person; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A bill to be entitled an Act to amend Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elementary and secondary education, so as to provide for an increase in state salary for school speechlanguage pathologists and audiologists who earn national certification; to provide definitions; to provide that persons who are licensed under the "Georgia State Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Licensing Act" are deemed to hold national certification; to provide for the amount of such increase; to provide when such increase shall become effective; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A bill to be entitled an Act to provide a homestead exemption from City of Conyers ad valorem taxes for municipal purposes in the amount of $10,000.00 of the assessed value of the homestead for each resident of the City of Conyers, which is in lieu of, and not in addition to any other homestead exemption applicable to City of Conyers ad valorem taxes for municipal purposes; to provide for conditions and procedures relating thereto; to repeal a specific Act; to provide for a referendum; to provide for applicability; to provide an effective date and automatic repeal; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A bill to be entitled an Act to amend Article 5 of Chapter 4 of Title 46 of the O.C.G.A., known as the "Natural Gas Competition and Deregulation Act," so as to provide that a marketer shall be prohibited from discontinuing service to persons 65 years of age or older or to persons with

physical or mental disabilities for nonpayment of bills during any winter heating season and the 30 days immediately following such winter heating season; to provide that prior to August 1, 2001, a marketer shall file with the commission the price per therm to be charged to retail customers which price shall not be increased more than $.50 during any three-year period unless any additional increase is authorized by the commission; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

A bill to be entitled an Act to amend Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elementary and secondary education, so as to provide that compliance with maximum class requirements shall be measured for each teacher and to prohibit averaging class sizes for a program or grade; to exempt the middle grades program and the middle school program from provisions allowing classes larger than the funding class sizes and provisions for phasing in maximum class size requirements; to provide a specific maximum number of students daily for each teacher who teaches five academic classes daily in the middle grades program or the middle school program; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
