Report for Monday, February 6, 2006
The fourteenth day of the 2006 legislative session was called to order by Lieutenant Governor Mark Taylor.
Senator Don Balfour of the 9th stated that the journal had been read and was found to be correct.
Lt. Gov. Taylor asked the Senate to pause for a moment of silence in memory of Secretary of the Senate Frank Eldridge, who passed away on Saturday, February 4.
Senate Bills 521-524, Senate Resolution 804, and House Bills 476, 1085, 1159, 1161 and 1186 were read for the first time and assigned to their respective Committees.
Following the report of Standing Committees and second reading of Senate Bills and Resolutions, Majority Leader Tommie Williams of the 19th asked that the afternoon roll call be dispensed with. There was no objection.
Majority Leader Williams then moved that the bills on today's Senate rules calendar, which include SB 468, 425, 450 and SR 737, be postponed until Wednesday, February 8. There was no objection.
Majority Leader Williams moved that the Senate stand adjourned until Wednesday, February 8, at 10:00 a.m.
