The fourth day of the 2006 legislative session was called to order by Lieutenant Governor Mark Taylor.
Senator Don Balfour of the 9th stated that journal had been read and was found to be correct.
Senate Bills 405 and 425-432 and Senate Resolutions 682 and 686 were read for the first time assigned to committee.
Following the second reading of Senate Bills and Resolutions, Sen. Robert Brown of the 26th moved to dispense with the morning roll call. Without objection, the motion carried.
Lt. Gov. Taylor then recognized Sen. Brown to lead the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance and introduce the Chaplain of the Day, Bishop Wes Hardin of Real Life Church in Macon, who led the Senate in the daily devotional.
Sen. Judson Hill of the 32nd took the well on a Point of Personal Privilege to recognize Religious Freedom Day on January 16, 2006.
SR 683-685 and 687 were read and adopted.
Following the announcements, Majority Leader Tommie Williams of the 19th moved to stand adjourned until 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 23.
