From August 2021 to August 2022, employment in Georgia is up 226,500, or 4.9 percent. Trade, transportation, and utilities (+55,400 jobs), professional and business services (+48,900 jobs), leisure and hospitality (+37,700 jobs), education and health services (+26,000 jobs) and manufacturing (+16,800 jobs) added the most jobs over the year.

In August 2022, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) held steady at 2.8 percent over the month, maintaining the lowest rate in Georgia's history. Georgia's unemployment rate remains well below the 3.7 percent national average. Over the year, the state's rate is down from 3.7 percent in August 2021.
