by 2,700 nonfarm workers in June, these sectors have
grown for 14 and two straight months respectively. Construction, the only sector to experience a contraction

From June 2021 to June 2022, employment in Georgia is up 246,300, or 5.4 percent. Professional and business services (+60,500 jobs), trade, transportation, and utilities (+57,200 jobs), leisure and hospitality (+40,700 jobs), education and health services (+26,200 jobs) and manufacturing (+21,700 jobs) added the most jobs over the year.
In June 2022, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) declined to 2.9 percent over the month, surpassing last month's record-breaking rate and reaching a new historical low. Georgia's unemployment rate remains well below the 3.6 national average. Over the year, the rate is down from 4.0 percent in June 2021.
