Employment in the Warner Robins MSA rose by 1,600 in 2021 after a loss of 2,200 jobs while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The private service-providing sector saw employment increase by 1,900 in 2021, after a drop of 1,700 in 2020 ended a five-year streak of job growth. Retail trade employment gained 700 jobs over the year in 2021 and was flat in 2020 and 2019 as well. Government employment was down 200 in 2021. The reduction came as federal government shed 200 jobs while state government and local government employment held steady.
