3,300 additional jobs in October and has experienced job

increases in three out of the four months.
Government shed 1,200 jobs in October following a decrease of 100 in September, continuing a three-month long contraction since August. State government jobs were reduced by 500 over the month along with a decline

government jobs during the month of October.

Over the year, employment in Georgia is up 196,900, or 4.5 percent. Professional and business services (+60,400 jobs), trade, transportation and utilities (+45,300 jobs), leisure and hospitality (+31,300 jobs), education and health services (+23,300 jobs) and manufacturing (+13,100 jobs) added the most jobs from October 2020 to October 2021.

Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) continued to decline, currently at 3.1 percent in October from 3.3 percent in September 2021. Unemployment in Georgia has fallen to the lowest rate in the state's recorded history, breaking the record previously set in September. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 5.9 percent in October 2020.
