Over the year, employment in Georgia is down by 164,700, or -3.6 percent. Leisure and Hospitality (-72,400 jobs); Professional and Business Services (-26,300 jobs); Manufacturing (-23,700 jobs); and Government (-19,400) have lost the most jobs from September 2019 to September 2020.
Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) increased to 6.4 percent in September from 5.7 percent in August 2020. Over the year, the unemployment rate is up from 3.2 percent in September 2019.
