Over the year, employment in Georgia has declined by 190,100, or -4.1 percent. Leisure and Hospitality (-77,600 jobs); Professional and Business Services (-41,800 jobs); Manufacturing (-20,100 jobs); and Information (-13,800 jobs) experienced the largest declines in employment from July 2019 to July 2020.
In July 2020, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) was flat over the month, holding at 7.6 percent. Over the year, the unemployment rate is up from 3.4 percent in July 2019.
