Professional and Business Services employment fell by 1,600 in May and the sector has now lost jobs for three months in a row. The 1,900 jobs gained in Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services along with 100 added Management of Companies and Enterprises positions were overwhelmed by the 3,600 job cuts in Administrative and Support Services in May. After being down 1,500 in April, Other Services employment declined by 300 in May.

Over the year, employment in Georgia is up 69,100, or 1.5 percent. Education and Health Services (+17,700 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+16,400 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+13,400 jobs); and Construction (+11,100 jobs) added the most jobs over the year.
In May 2019, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) held steady at 3.8 over the month. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 4.0 percent in May 2018.
