by 1,300 in March after adding 1,000 jobs in February.

Professional and Business Services decreased by 4,700 in March. This is after five consecutive month of job growth in Professional and Business Services. Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services accounted for 5,700 of the employment loss. Trade Transportation and Utilities fell by 800 in March. This is the second consecutive month of job loss in Trade, Transportation, and Utilities. Wholesale Trade and Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities employment lost 1,900 and 1,400 respectively in March. While Retail Trade employment gained 2,500 in March.

Over the year, employment in Georgia has increased by 85,200, or 1.9 percent. Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+18,800 jobs); Education and Health Services (+17,200 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+16,800 jobs), and Professional and Business Services (+16,500 jobs) added the most jobs over the year. Sectors with the largest job losses from March to March are Information (-4,600 jobs) and Mining and Logging (-300 jobs).
In March 2019, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) held steady at 3.9 over the month. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 4.2 percent in March 2018.
