Over the year, employment in Georgia has increased by 97,100, or 2.2 percent. Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+24,100 jobs); Education and Health Services (+18,400 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+15,500 jobs), and Construction (+14,600 jobs) added the most jobs over the year. Sectors with the largest job losses from February to February are Information (-5,600 jobs), Mining and Logging (-300 jobs), and Other Services (-100 jobs).
Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) moved up to 3.9 percent in February 2019 from 3.8 percent in January. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 4.2 percent in February 2018.
