in November, its fourth consecutive month of growth. Local Government added 2,800 jobs over the month, while Federal Government and Local Government lost 800 and 200 jobs, respectively. Construction employment expanded by 1,400 in November after growing by 400 in October.

Trade, Transportation, and Utilities employment was down 4,600 in November, its third straight month of negative growth. Wholesale Trade jobs were down 2,300, Retail Trade employment dropped by 1,600, and Transportation and Warehousing shed 700 positions. Information services employment was down 1,400 in November.

Over the year, Georgia has added 98,700 jobs to its economy. Professional and Business Services (+31,600 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+17,500 jobs); and Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+14,700 jobs) have added the most jobs over the year.
Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) increased in November 2016, from the revised rate of 5.2 percent in October to 5.3 in November. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 5.5 percent in November 2015.
