New Developments

A car parts manufacturing plant will soon open in Cherokee County, bringing 300 new jobs to the county. Inalfa Roof Systems, headquartered in the Netherlands, is projected to open its doors in January 2014 at the new Cherokee 75 Corporate Park. The company specializes in vehicle roofing systems for car manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, Volvo and BMW.
Walmart will build a new store on Peachtree Parkway in Cumming. The Super Walmart will be 177,000 square feet and is expected to open in 2014. Once fully operational, the Cumming Walmart will employ about 250 people.
National DCP LLC, the exclusive purchasing and distribution entity for Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the U.S., is planning to move some administrative positions from Bellingham, MA to a new corporate office in Duluth. The new Georgia office will house functions like finance, member services, human resources, and communications and is scheduled to open in August 2013.
Quaker City Plating will occupy a 25,000 square-foot building in the Brunswick-McBride Industrial Park in Brunswick. The facility is across the road from Brunswick Golden Isles Airport where Gulfstream repairs and maintains planes. The California-based plating company is expanding operations to Brunswick, its first facility outside California, where it will electroplate aviation parts for Gulfstream Aerospace. Quaker City plans to hire 40 workers in production and administration and will begin renovating the building to fit its needs with the expectation of beginning production in early 2014.
Hostess Brands LLC announced the relaunch of the production of Twinkies and other treats at the Dolly Madison Bakery in Columbus in July 2013. The facility on Victory Drive is being prepped and equipment is being tested as the product readies for relaunch. The Columbus

operation will initially employ 200 people with plans to add more as demand grows.
One of the world's largest makers of allterrain vehicles has opened a second assembly plant in Newnan. Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corp. has announced that it will hire 100 employees to work on a new side-by-side utility vehicle at its Coweta County plant, 30 minutes south of Atlanta. The Newnan plant currently employs 1,250 workers and the company also has corporate offices in Kennesaw in Cobb County. Yamaha Motor Manufacturing has invested $250 million in its Newnan operations in the past 12 years. The facility is now Yamaha's worldwide hub for ATV/SxS production and distribution.
A new recycling business has moved into a Macon warehouse. Go Green Plastics LLC, is expected to add about 20 more employees to its current five by the end of 2013 as it sets up operations in a building on Confederate Way in Macon. The company creates usable products out of the materials it collects; it takes in plastics and other materials, separates it from any labels and liquids, shreds it, processes it and turns it into pellets that will be recycled back into usable items. The business also plans to manufacturer multilayer absorbent pads like the type moving companies and furniture manufacturers may use to wrap furniture.
AT&T has announced it will create nearly 600 new jobs in Georgia with plans to hire workers to fill more than 1,000 positions overall. Many of the positions are the result of Project Velocity IP -- a multibillion dollar three year investment to expand and enhance its national wireless and wired internet protocol networks. The expansion calls for the company to grow its 4G network to cover more than 300 million people by the end of 2014 and expand service to more than 1 million businesses by the end of 2015.

Note: Information in New Developments are from a variety of public sources and by no means are a comprehensive listing of new and expanding business in Georgia
