A carpet backings producer company from Dubai and Saudi Arabia has announced that it will expand its operations in Georgia. Mattex will invest $60 million and create 200 jobs over a three year period as they move to build an extrusion manufacturing plant in Murray County. The plant will be the company's U.S. headquarters and its first manufacturing facility outside the Middle East. Plans are for the manufacturing facility to be between 275,000 and 375,000 square feet with construction to start in summer 2013 and operations beginning in 2014. Headquartered in Dubai, Mattex Group is a leading provider for polyolefinbased textiles, developing and producing primary and secondary carpet backings, artificial grass backings and woven and nonwoven geotextiles.
