Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair in Henry County
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Clayton Regional Career Center and the New Birth South Metropolitan Church will co-sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The event will be held Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the New Birth South Metropolitan Church, located at 2455 Mt. Carmel Rd. in Hampton.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Henry County area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 50 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Airtran Airways, Babies R Us, Carlisle Tire and Wheel Company, City of Atlanta, Coca-Cola, DeKalb County Police Department, Express Personnel, Gate Gourmet, Geo Group, Georgia National Guard, Global Employment, Gwinnett County Police Department, Henry County Police Department, Home Depot, Hyatt Grand, Personnel Options, Randstad, Sumika Polymer Compounds America, This Is It Barbecue and Seafood, Toto USA, Tri-State Staffing, U.S. Marine Corps, and WIS International.
