Georgia Department of Labor schedules career expo/job fair in Gwinnett
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia
Department of Labor's Gwinnett Career Center and the Norcross Cooperative Ministry will cosponsor a career expo and job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The event will be held Thursday, June 12, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Norcross First United Methodist Church, located at 2500 Beaver Ruin Rd. in Norcross.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career expo and job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Gwinnett area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 50 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Aramark Uniform Services, Atlanta Electrical Contractors, C. Richard Barnes and Associates, Career Training Concepts, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Crown Care, Davis Companies, Goodwill Industries of North Georgia, Gwinnett County Police Department, Healthport, Home Depot, Ikon Office Solutions, Kelly Services, Kroger, Krystal, Paradigm Security Services, Perimeter Staffing, Primerica Financial Services, Protech ADT, Quality Care for Children, Richard Staffing Services, Selecsource Staffing Services, U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Army and Army Reserves, Volt Technical Resources, and Wincup.
