Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair/career expo in Griffin
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Griffin One-Stop Career Center and the Griffin Area Employer Committee will co-sponsor a job fair and career expo for employers and job seekers in the area.
The job fair/career expo will be held Wednesday, May 28, from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Griffin Event Center, located at 551 North Expressway, which is the former Walmart/Goody's Shopping Center in Griffin.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career fair is designed to bring Griffin area employers and organizations together with veterans, students, and others who are seeking employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 60 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: B&G Equipment Company, Caterpillar, Clorox Company, Express Employment Professionals, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Crown Distributing Company, Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison, Health Staff Services, Heritage Inn Nursing Center, Innoware Plastics, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Modern Woodmen of America, Nurse Management Services, Personnel Options, Primerica Financial Services, Randstad, Ranew's Companies, Southern States, Standard Textile, Toto USA, Tencate, U.S. Army, U.S. Army Healthcare Recruiters, Venturi Staffing Partners, Waffle House, and Winpak Films.
