Georgia Department of Labor schedules career fair in Covington
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Covington Career Center will sponsor a career fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The career fair will be held Friday, May 2, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Newton Conference Center of DeKalb Technical College, located at 8100 Bob Williams Parkway, near the City Pond in Covington.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career fair is designed to bring Covington area employers and organizations together with students, veterans, and others who are seeking employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 20 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Corporate Solutions, Devry University, Duro Tire and Wheel, Excel International Medical School, Flambeau Corporation, Georgia School of Construction, General Mills, Newton County Sheriff's Office, Nurse Management Services, Pre-Paid Legal, Resource Manufacturing, Select Source Staffing, Smart Style, Solo Cup, Spherion, U.S. Army, Wagner Service Solutions, and Zaxby's.
