Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair in Thomson
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Thomson Career Center will sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the McDuffie County area.
The job fair will be held Wednesday, April 30, from 1-5 p.m. at The Depot, located at 111 Railroad St. in Thomson.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Thomson area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 40 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Amcor, City of Thomson government, Department of Juvenile Justice, East Central Regional Hospital, FedEx Home Delivery, FPL Foods, Georgia State Patrol, Grubby's, Guards Mark, Home Depot, Hancock State Prison, Holliman's Heating and Air Conditioning, Mary Kay Cosmetics, McDonald's, McDuffie County Board of Education, McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Pilgrim's Pride, Shaw Industries, Sitel, Smart Style Family Salon, Temple Inland Company, T Mobile, Thomson Plastics, Tractor Supply Company, TRW, U.S. Social Security Administration, and Waffle House.
