Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair in Bainbridge
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Bainbridge Career Center and the Southwest Georgia Employer Committee will co-sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The job fair will be held Tuesday, May 6, from 1-6 p.m. at the Cloud Livestock Facility at the Bainbridge-Decatur County Fair Grounds, located at 1213 Vada Rd., which is Highway 97 North in Bainbridge.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Bainbridge and Southwest Georgia area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 30 employers who will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: American Fibers and Yarns, Digital Reception Services, Georgia Power Company, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, ResCare Home Health Care, Timken, Traco, and WalMart.
