Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair in Lithonia
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's DeKalb Career Center will sponsor a job fair in Lithonia on Wednesday, April 9, for employers and job seekers in the area.
The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, located at 6400 Woodrow Rd. in Lithonia.
"The job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the DeKalb County area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The job fair is expected to feature about 40 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Employers expected to participate in the event include: Aramark Aviation Service, AT&T, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Police Department, Babies R Us, Bank of America, Cartridge World of Lithonia, Columbus Police Department, DeKalb County Police Department, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, Devry University, Employment Seeker, Family Practice Partners, Finlay Fine Jewelry at Macy's, Georgia Army National Guard, Georgia State Personnel Administration, Georgia Perimeter College, Goodwill of North Georgia, Gwinnett County Police Department, H&R Block, Heaven's Cove, Orkin Customer Service Center, Rockdale County Government, Taco Bell, U.S. Coast Guard, UPS, Verizon Wireless, WAMU Bank, and Worktec.
