Labor department's Columbus Career Center to help two employers recruit next week
ATLANTA- The Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center will host recruitments for two local employers next week. Both events will be held at the career center, located at 700 Veterans Parkway in Columbus.
On Thursday, March 6, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., the Muscogee County School District (MCSD) will be interviewing for several school bus drivers. Qualified applicants will receive proper training. Applicants will be required to have a valid driver's license, and preference will be given to those with a Class A commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement. Applicants must also have a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate. These are part-time positions. The school district requests that applicants enter an on-line application at www.mcsdga.net prior to the interview.
On Friday, March 7, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Spherion Workforce will interview for a number of production workers and machine operators for local companies. These will be full-time and part-time jobs at a salary of $8 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, six months of production experience, or one year of machine-operating experience.
