Clear Channel Radio Job Fair/Career Expo scheduled in Columbus

ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center will assist Clear Channel Radio with its fifth annual job fair/career expo for employers and job seekers in the area.

"This job fair/career expo is designed to support local, regional, and national companies by putting employers in contact with prospective employees," said State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond. "Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, educational and career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."

The job fair/career expo will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the South Hall of the Columbus Trade Center, 801 Front Ave. The event will feature about 80 employers, along with colleges and universities. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend.

The labor department will provide Internet access at the job fair/career expo for those who would like to apply for one of 2,500 jobs at the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia plant under construction at West Point, and will have staff available to assist applicants in completing the online application. Kia representatives will be present to provide information about career opportunities with the company.
