Georgia Department of Labor schedules career fair in Gwinnett
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Gwinnett Career Center and the Gwinnett Employer Committee will cohost a career fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The career fair will be held Monday, January 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2211 Beaver Ruin Rd., Suite 160, in Norcross, the site of the career center.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Gwinnett County area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event is expected to feature about 20 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Employers expected to participate include: AFLAC, Atlanta Electrical Contractors, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the City of Suwanee, Department of Juvenile Justice, Gwinnett County Police Department, Kroger, Lake Lanier Islands, Perimeter Staffing, The Home Depot, University of Phoenix, Waffle House, and Wika Instruments.
