Atlanta Football Classic Job Fair Scheduled for Friday
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor and 100 Black Men of Atlanta will co-sponsor the Seventh Annual Atlanta Football Classic Job Fair in conjunction with this year's game between the Tennessee State Tigers and the Florida A&M Rattlers.
"This annual event is an excellent way to bring employers together with job seekers to fill available positions," said Commissioner Thurmond. "The leadership and hard work of the 100 Black Men makes it possible."
The job fair will be held Friday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall of Building A at the Georgia World Congress Center, located at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd. N.W. in Atlanta. The event is free and open to all job seekers.
Employers from a wide range of industries are expected to participate in the job fair, which is designed to assist them in recruiting talented, experienced, and skilled workers. Applicants are encouraged to come to the career fair professionally dressed with multiple copies of their resumes.
Employers expected to participate in the job fair include: AAA Auto Insurance, Abbott Laboratories, Accounting Principals, AETC, Airtran Airways, AT&T, AIG American General, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Avon Products, Babies R Us, Bank of America, Best Buy, Borders, CITI Trends, Comcast Cable, Cypress Care, Dart Container Corporation, EMC2 Corporation, Eveready Trucking, FEDEX Kinko's, Finlay Fine Jewelry, Gate Gourmet, Georgia Crown Distributing Company, H&R Block, I-Tech Staffing Services, IKON, J. D. Sharp and Associates, J. P. Morgan Chase, Kaiser Permanente, Lake Lanier Islands, Leviton Manufacturing Company, Randstad Staffing, Securitas Security Services, Target, The Home Depot, Toys R Us, United Parcel Service (UPS), Verizon Wireless, Waffle House, Washington Mutual Bank, and a number of governmental agencies and educational institutions.
