Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair in Cairo
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Cairo Career Center and several other local organizations will sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The job fair will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, from 1-4 p.m. at the Grady County AgriCenter, 65 Eleventh Ave. NW, adjacent to the State Farmer's Market, in Cairo. Other sponsors of the job fair include: the Cairo-Grady County Employer Committee, the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, The Cairo Messenger, and Newstalk 790 WGRA Radio.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Cairo area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature more than 20 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: Dollar Business Solutions, Georgia Department of Corrections' Autry State Prison, Goodwill Industries, Grady General Hospital, Liberty National Insurance, Pampered Chef, Performance Food Group, New Hire Solutions, Seminole Marine, Southern Home Care Services, Southwestern State Hospital, Telamon Corporation, TeligentEMS, The Big Chile, Timken, Trulock Tool, United Structures/Quincy Joist, Woodmen of the World, and WTLJ-Fox 49.
