Georgia Department of Labor to help AAFES recruit food service workers at Ft. Benning
ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Labor is hosting a recruitment in Columbus this week for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) to fill about 115 job openings at a new post exchange (PX) mall food court at Fort Benning. The new PX Mall, which is scheduled to open in November, will be located in Building 9220 on Marne Road.
"We're pleased to be working with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service to fill jobs available at their new PX complex," said State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond. "This is a great opportunity for civilian job seekers in the area. I encourage all those interested to apply."
The recruiting process will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 2-4, at 700 Veterans Parkway, the site of the Columbus Career Center. Applicants are encouraged to apply on-line at www.aafes.com prior to coming to the career center for the recruitment.
AAFES will be hiring food service workers and foremen for various food venues on post. Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificates. Entry level wage for food service worker is $7.06 per hour.
The company will conduct a criminal background check on all applicants.
