Elberton area job fair scheduled
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Elberton Career Center, the Elberton/Broad River Area Employer Committee, and other local organizations will sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area.
The job fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Athens Technical College, 1317 Athens Highway 72 in Elberton. The job fair is expected to feature about 30 employers. Other sponsors include: the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce and the Elbert County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS).
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair will bring employers and organizations together with job seekers who are seeking career guidance and possible future employment. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
Representatives from area businesses will be on hand to display their businesses to the public and discuss possible employment opportunities with their companies. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Employers expected to participate in the job fair include: Avon, Beaulieu of America, Elbert Memorial Hospital, Etcon Staffing Agency, Flexstaff Services, Glen Raven, H & R Block, Pilgrim's Pride, Primerica Financial Services, Staffmasters USA, The Pampered Chef, Wellstone Mills, Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society.
