Columbus area job fair scheduled
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center and the University of Phoenix will co-sponsor a job fair for employers and job seekers in the area. The University of Phoenix is a private educational institution.
The job fair will be held Thursday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the university campus at 4747 Hamilton Rd. in Columbus. The event will feature about 75 employers seeking to fill a variety of job openings.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair will provide an excellent opportunity for employers to come together with veterans and other Columbus area job seekers. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
Representatives from local, regional, and national industries will be on hand to interview job applicants and discuss possible employment opportunities with their companies. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for job openings.
