Sandwiches Recalled for Undeclared Milk in Bread
ATLANTA -- Pierre Foods, Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio has recalled all of its "Fast Bite BBQ Chicken" and "Fast Bite Spicy Breaded Chicken" sandwiches because the bread used in the sandwiches may contain undeclared milk ingredients, Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin notified consumers today. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk risk serious or lifethreatening allergic reactions if they consume these products. The sandwiches were distributed nationwide to be sold in vending machines and convenience stores. Irvin recommended that anyone who has a milk allergy should check for the identification of the sandwiches on any packages of the two products.
The products are packaged in clear film and contain two sandwiches per package. The packages are identified as:
"Fast Bites BBQ Chicken", Net Weight 3.75oz (106g) bearing a barcode stating 7142110953.
"Fast Bites Spicy Breaded Chicken", Net Weight 3.55oz (100g), bearing a barcode stating 7142110954 (All production lot codes)
"Anyone who has concerns about these products may return them to the place of purchase for a refund," said Irvin.
