Tifton area career expo/job fair scheduled
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Tifton Career Center, along with other local organizations, will cosponsor its second annual career expo and job fair for employers and job seekers in the area. Other sponsors include the Tift Area Employer Committee and the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce.
The job fair will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the New Recreation Department, 401 North Victory Dr. in Tifton. The event will feature about 50 employers.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career expo and job fair is designed to bring area employers and organizations together with job seekers who are looking for career guidance and possible future employment. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential.
Representatives from area businesses will be on hand to display their businesses to the public and discuss possible employment opportunities with their companies. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
