Georgia Department of Labor consolidates area operations in new downtown facility
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that beginning this Monday the Georgia Department of Labor will consolidate its services, now provided in three separate locations in Valdosta, into one new facility in the downtown area.
The new facility, located at 221 South Ashley St., will open for business Monday morning, June 28. The office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The new facility will house the services of the labor department's Valdosta Career Center, vocational rehabilitation hub, and vocational rehabilitation regional office. All employmentrelated services, unemployment insurance benefits, unemployment insurance taxes, and services to persons with disabilities will continue uninterrupted.
The department has closed its three former offices located at 2808 North Oak St., 2910 North Ashley St., and 2809 North Ashley St.
