Labor department to help Columbus Youth Detention Center recruit workers
ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center will help the state Department of Juvenile Justice recruit more than 30 juvenile correctional officers for a new Youth Detention Center in Muscogee County. The new facility will open in March.
The labor department will test applicants for these positions on Friday, Dec. 10, and Wednesday, Dec. 22, from 2-4 p.m. at 700 Veterans Parkway, the site of the career center. Applicants must be at least age 18, be a U. S. citizen, have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate, and have no felony convictions.
