Labor department to help Vance Security recruit workers in Columbus
ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Labor's Columbus Career Center will help Vance Security fill about 60 job openings for civilian security officers at Fort Benning.
The labor department will host a recruiting effort for the company on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 6-7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 700 Veterans Parkway, the site of the career center. During that time, applicants will be screened to ensure that they are qualified for the positions. Selected applicants will be scheduled for an interview.
Applicants must be a U. S. citizen, at least 21 years old, hold a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate and a valid drivers' license, able to pass a physical examination, physical agility and firearms test, attend a three-to-fourweek training course at Fort Benning, and pass an in-depth background check and drug screening test. The starting salary is $12.60 per hour, plus $2.36 an hour for health and welfare benefits.
