INGLES OF WOODBURY NAMED WORKSITE OF QUARTER
WARM SPRINGS -- Ingles grocery store in Woodbury has been named the Georgia Department of Labor's Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation (RWSIR) Worksite of the Quarter. The store has proven "its dedication to helping students succeed in the workplace," said program coordinator Jayne Bryan of RWSIR's vocational unit.
"Store manager Gordon Smith is willing to accept students with all types of disabilities and always relates well to them," Bryan said. "Gordon and his staff are willing to make whatever accommodations are necessary to give these students a chance to perform the various tasks in places like the deli, bakery, floral area, customer service counter, and as stockers throughout the store. These are tasks essential to gaining on-the-job grocery experience."
Ingles joins The Bonus Store in Greenville (formerly Bill's Dollar Store), the Georgia Baptist Meriwether Nursing Home in Warm Springs, and the Central Supply Department at the Roosevelt Institute as Worksite of the Quarter selections. These are just a few of more than 100 area worksites currently involved in the Worksite Partnership Program.
Currently, Ingles is in its second year as part of the Institute's Worksite Partnership Program, providing on-thejob experience and skills for RWSIR vocational rehabilitation students.
