97 WORKSITES TO BE RECOGNIZED AT PARTNERSHIP CELEBRATION
WARM SPRINGS -- A total of 97 student worksites will be recognized by the Georgia Department of Labor's Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation (RWSIR) at its 2002 Worksite Partnership Celebration Monday, Dec. 2.
The celebration, sponsored by the institute's vocational unit, annually recognizes the contributions of both off-campus and on-campus worksites, as well as Prowork Program contract providers. Those recognized provide worksite experience and on-the-job training for RWSIR students seeking to enter the workforce despite physical or learning disabilities.
"It's our way of saying `thank you' to the many wonderful people that provide sites for our students, enabling them to obtain the skills necessary to eventually re-enter the workforce in their home communities," said Jayne Bryan, the vocational coordinator heading up this year's celebration.
"New Freedom for the 21st Century," is the theme of this year's celebration, which will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p. m. in historic Georgia Hall, followed by dinner and a slide show at 7:15 p.m. Worksite representatives and contract providers will receive customized, maple-finished plaques to display in their businesses. About 150 people are expected to attend. For more information, call 706/655-5118.
