BEVILL TO LEAD ERGONOMICS SEMINAR IN AMERICUS
ATLANTA -- Leonard Bevill of Macon, the chief executive officer of one of the most comprehensive occupational health programs in Georgia, will conduct a seminar on ergonomics in the workplace in Sumter County.
Entitled "Practical Aspects of Ergonomics," the seminar will be held Friday, Jan. 18, from 8:3011:30 a.m. in the John M. Pope Technology Center at South Georgia Technical College, 1583 Southerfield Road in Americus.
The seminar is co-sponsored by the Georgia Department of Labor's Americus Career Center and the Americus Employer Committee. The cost of the seminar, which includes a continental breakfast, will be $20 for employer committee members and $25 for non-members.
The seminar will focus on work site analysis, hazard prevention and control, training and education, and medical management. It will also give an overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards on ergonomics.
The CEO of Macon Occupational Medicine, Bevill holds a bachelor of science degree in therapy and a master of science degree in exercise science, specializing in ergonomics and bio-mechanics from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
He has 10 years experience in a variety of occupational health programs in various industries, and has obtained specialized certifications, including ergonomics evaluator, work capacity evaluator, and impairment evaluation specialist.
