LABOR DEPARTMENT'S COBB-CHEROKEE OFFICE TO SPONSOR YOUTH JOB FAIR THURSDAY, MAY 11
ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Cobb-Cherokee office will sponsor a job fair this week to help young people age 15 and older to find full and part-time summer jobs.
The job fair will be held on Thursday, May 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the labor department's CobbCherokee office at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta. The office telephone number is (770) 5286100.
About a dozen employers from manufacturers, hotels, supermarkets, department stores, restaurants, and other industries will be at the job fair to take applications and conduct interviews. They include: Cracker Barrel, United Parcel Service, Swim Atlanta, First North American National Bank, Kroger, Southern Ice Cream, Church's Chicken, Norrell Corporation, Race Trac, Hyatt Hotels, and Life University, as well as White Water and Six Flags amusement parks.
Applicants should bring copies of their resume or work history, dress appropriately, and be prepared to interview.
Also, applicants must be able to produce a Georgia driver's license or valid picture identification, along with a U. S. Social Security card or birth certificate. Original documents, not copies, will be required. For more information, applicants may call the labor department's Cobb-Cherokee office at 770-528-6100.
