SAVANNAH AREA VETERANS JOB FAIR SET FOR TUESDAY, MAY 16
ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor will sponsor a job fair in Savannah next week. The job fair is for veterans and active-duty soldiers in the Savannah area who are scheduled to be released from the military.
The job fair will be held Tuesday, May 16, from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the labor department's Savannah office at 5520 White Bluff Road. The job fair will be open to the general public after noon.
About 25 employers have committed to participate in the one-day event. They include: Georgia Army National Guard, Initial Staffing Services, TRC Staffing Services, The Polote Corp., Georgia Pacific, Kelly Services, KEM Distributing Co., Eastern Personnel, The Landings Club, the Westin Resort, Federal Express, Manpower Temporary Services, Sullivan Staffing, Bo-Mark Transport Inc., Chatham Area Transit, Quala, Willamette, Inc., International Paper Corp., Pitney Bowes, Goodyear Tire, Comcast Communications, the Georgia Department of Corrections, and agencies from Chatham County's government.
Personnel of the labor department will be on hand to answer questions about career counseling or employment services available through the agency.
