ATLANTA AREA JOB FAIR SET FOR WEDNESDAY MAY 17

ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor, along with its local employer committee, will co-sponsor a job fair in Atlanta next week.

The job fair will be held Wednesday, May 17, from 1-7 p.m., at the Atlanta Civic Center at 395 Piedmont Ave.

More than 60 employers are expected to participate in the job fair. Among the companies expected to attend are Ameri Cold Logistics, MGR Food Services, Georgia World Congress Center, Hertz, W.S. Badcock Corp., Metro Waterproofing, East Coast Security, GE Capitol, MCI World Comm, Loomis Fargo, Kroger, Amer Tower, Sears Termite & Pest, A-1 Temps, Georgia State University Police, Web Van, Dobbs Aviation, Avis, U.S. Navy Reserves, Embassy Suites, the U.S. Census Bureau, Nextel, Burns Security, UPS, Conseco, and agencies of Gwinnett County's government.

Openings include full and part-time jobs for professional, technical, managerial, clerical and skilled construction workers.

Applicants should bring several resumes, dress appropriately, and be prepared to interview.
