ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor and Contemporary Services Corp., the agency that will provide security for the Super Bowl, are recruiting workers to fill more than 2,000 temporary jobs on Super Bowl Sunday, Jan. 30, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The latest recruiting effort will be held Monday, December 13th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the labor department's South Metro office at 2636-14 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

During the week leading up to the Super Bowl, Contemporary Services will provide security for all official National Football League (NFL) property and events, such as team practices, players association meetings, youth clinics, press conferences, hotel events, and other NFL activities. On game day, the company will handle crowd management, access control and security for the game itself.

In addition to security personnel, some of the openings include jobs as ticket takers, ushers, supervisors and staff for various events. Some jobs will begin as early as January 4 and extend through February 4.

Applicants should bring their work history for the past five years and two forms of identification and be prepared to interview. Examples of valid identification include picture I.D., driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, voter registration card, and passport.
